Features and Benefits of LED Street Lights
Features and Benefits of LED Street Lights
An LED street lamp is a street lighting fixture that contains an integrated light emitting diode (LED) as its light source. They are called integrated lights because generally, in an LED street light, the luminaire and the fixture are not separate parts. This integrated light fixture is manufactured by sealing the LED light cluster on a panel and connecting it to the LED panel with a heat sink. LED street lights with LED street lamp housing is a very popular choice of street lighting due to its many features and benefits. What Are The Different Styles Of LED Street Lights Available? There are various types of designs depending on how the LED street light with LED street lamp housing incorporates LEDs. There are two main options available: the use of a few high power LEDs in the fixture or the use of many low intensity LEDs in the fixture. Other variations in design and style are due to LED configurations, aesthetic design, and the type of heat sink that is integrated with the LED street light. The Benefits Of Installing LED Street LightsMost designs of LED street lights have a lens on the panel containing the LED, which is designed in such a way as to cast a rectangle shape pattern. This feature of LED street lights with LED street lamp housing is very advantageous as it produces a more focused light, unlike sodium lamps, which have a reflector at the back and most of whose light ends up as glare.LED lights however, have the disadvantage that most of its light is directed towards the road, and not to the side walk or other areas. This drawback can be easily corrected by using specialized lens design and adjustable mounting fixtures. The Benefits of LED Street LightsThe main advantage of using LED street lights with LED street lamp housing is that they are very energy efficient when compared to other forms of street lighting. With advancements in technology, newer models of LED street lights are becoming more and more energy efficient, and thus have a wider appeal than High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps or Metal Halide lamps. What Are The Benefits Of Installing LED Street Lamps? As mentioned earlier, the two main advantages of installing LED street lamps with LED street lamp housing are that they are able to produce more focused light and less glare due to the rectangular shaped panel and specialized lens design, and that they are highly efficient in terms of energy consumption when compared to other forms of street lighting. Other important advantages of LED street lights are that they reduce energy consumption, have a long and predictable lifespan of about 10 to 14 years, have a higher light output even at low temperatures, and are less attractive to insects.·RELATED QUESTIONWill the SpaceX Roadster reach Mars on Friday, 23 October, 2020? How close will it get? Will a transceiver still be operating on the 3rd stage?Sometime in October 2020 (maybe not the 23rd), it will have a closest approach with Mars at 0.05 AU. While 0.05 might look like a small number, that distance is about a thousand times the diameter of Mars. So at closest approach, Mars would appear to be the same size as a gnat smashed on the windshield of the roadster, as seen by Starman. I’d hardly call that reaching Mars.Unless there’s something SpaceX isn’t telling us, there are no longer any active transponders on the Tesla Roadster or the second stage it’s attached to. The normal second stage equipment runs on batteries, which died not long after launch. The only way to track its trajectory is visual and maybe DSN radar observations when the thing happens to be near Earth. If we can spot it again several years from now, that will greatly improve our knowledge of its orbit.

50 Great Holidays for Families with Teenagers
What makes the perfect teenage holiday? It depends on what sort of teenager you’ve got. Some want to laze by a pool, others want to change the world. There are teens who want sport and there are teens who want spas. Some teens are desperate for independence, others are happy to spend time with their parents. It’s never easy planning a trip for this complicated age group – it did get slightly cheaper in March when the threshold for Air Passenger Duty rose to 16 – but there are certain key factors that can make or break a family holiday with teens.Give them space – their own room away from annoying younger siblings and nagging parents. Consider sharing a larger property with friends so they can holiday with a few of their mates. Cater for their interests – find out what they want in the way of watersports, clubs or shops. Don’t underestimate their energy and enthusiasm for a challenging adventure – it can be a great way to boost their self-confidence and for families to reconnect. If you find that the instructions are too technical for you, inquire from a specialist to ensure you understand every instruction. The wiring arrangement must be properly done so that you can achieve what you want.Know the precautions you are required to take so that you avoid common pitfalls. All in all, it is best you leave this task to a professional. This is when you do not feel confident in undertaking the task. There is no doubt that with the right fixtures for your ceiling, you will be in a position to enjoy the pleasant change in your home.
Capping Off a Single (large) Wire?
Capping Off a Single (large) Wire?
Capping off a single (large) wire? Here is one possibility- "cold shrink" silicone insulator. Check the voltage rating for whatever type you are looking at.You pull on the end of the coiled plastic and it unravels, leaving the silicone cap to shrink onto the end of the wire.— — — — — —How to fix severed wire behind wall?No how you look at it you need to cut a whole and replace the bad wire. Try finding a good place for a an outlet and splice the wire by hooking it up through the outlet that way the wire is in the outlet box and the wire is fixed and now you have a switchable outlet for the curling iron or blow dryer that will be shut off when the light is turned off. This stops the chance of a fire by leaving a hot iron on in the bathroom.— — — — — —Can a lamp with a 2 wire cord be hard wired into the wall and hooked up to a wall switch.?you have to make sure that you have a place to mount them, generally there is a box that held the old fixtures and that the lamps that you want to install will mount to the box(just behind the drywall/plaster). just make sure that when you cut the wire that you are able to define the hot wire and the neutral wire (black coming from the wall is hot, white is neutral). if the cord on the new fixture is see thru you should see two different colors, one copper tone and the other silver in color. the copper is the hot side so attach it to the black, the other, to the white. if it is not clear, the wire from the fixture that has a ridge line will be the neutral while the smooth one will be the hot. if every thing falls into place as far as mounting and wiring you should be good to go.— — — — — —Measuring resistance of wire?I see many partial answers already posted. In fact there may be many explanations: 1. The ohm meter has not been calibrated properly. To find out, read the manual, it should mention about bench accuracy or calibration accuracy. 2. Remember that it's not always only the resistance of the wire which you are measuring. Make sure your wire is in good shape. It may be possible that the first part you measured had a dent (and therefore higher resistance per meter), and the second part did not— — — — — —wire and fuse should I put on a 2500 watt inverter?Chris, we have welding cable feeding our 4000 watt inverter, which runs through a 200 amp disconnect, but the battery voltage is 24 volts, so our current limits would be half what yours are. There is also the fact that at that high current level, wire run length can be a player, even at 10 feet or so. If the current has to run through 10 feet of cable from the positive to the inverter, it also has to run another 10 feet back through the negative side. You said 6 AWG, do you mean 6/0? Straight number six is only good to about 75 amps in continuous service. I can tell you that you almost certainly want a 250 amp fuse, but if the wire is big enough, the 300 amp will probably work. If it were me, I would call the inverter manufacturer, they deal with tons of situations like this, and one of their tech guys could anwer your question quite accurately in less than a minute. He can tell you what range of disconnects are appropriate, and what size wire you need, not only for the current, but for the wire run length as well. It's a short call that is well worth the time. If you are upgrading as you say, have you purchased the inverter yet? Can you ask the person you are buying it from? Otherwise, consult the manual that comes with it if it is new, it might have all the info you need, ours did. Take care Chris, Rudydoo.— — — — — —Wire binding equipmentIn order to bind documents with double loop wire a binding machine and a wire closer are required. Smaller organizations will often choose a small manual wire binding machine that offers a manual hole punch and a built in wire closer. Medium-sized users will often choose a wire binding machine with an electric punch and built in wire closer. The highest volume wire binding users such as binderies, print shops and in-plant printers will usually separate the punching and finishing stages of the binding process in order to increase productivity. These users will often use a heavy duty modular interchangeable die punch or an automated punching system along with either a manual or an electric wire closing machine

Other productsWhen a drought threatened water supply for Melbourne's gardens, the Dight's Falls Pumping Station located just below the tail race of the mill at Dight's Falls was erected in 1890 with 150 horsepower engines from Austral Otis. As part of its pavilion at the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, Austral Otis erected a timber tower 40m high, which included an elevator that travelled about 30 m. It was estimated to have cost about 1200 and was known as New Zealand's Eiffel Tower. The Queenscliff lifeboat shed included a slipway with roller, channel, keelway and cradle supplied by the Austral Otis Engineering Co. An unusual piece of large machinery constructed by the Austral Otis company, was Big Lizzie, built for the Mount Gunson copper mine around 1912 when they needed a super heavy truck to handle swamps and to ford small rivers. It was fitted with Frank Bottrill's "Dreadnaught Wheels" which he patented in 1906. Some of the McDonald's tractors also had these wheels. The truck did not leave Melbourne for Mount Gunson South Australia until 1916. A unique contract was for the No 1 rail grinder, built in 1929 for the Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board, which was used to smooth tramway tracks. Another large contract was for a dragline excavator for use in the newly opened brown coal fields of the State Electricity Commission in the Latrobe Valley, which followed a plant for making briquettes in 1893-94, for the Great Morwell Coal Mining Company near what is now Yallourn North.— — — — — —5 Reasons Why Opting for Injection Moulded Plastic Products is a Good IdeaOne of the most significant features of plastic as an element is its malleability — its ability to be easily moulded into the desired shape. It is for this reason that plastic is the most preferred material for manufacturing an array of products, for mundane use as well as in factories and industries. And one of the most popular means of moulding plastic into the desired shapes and dimensions is through plastic injection molding. This process essentially involves injecting molten plastic into moulds to attain the finished product in the required shape and size. So, how does plastic injection moulding aid in manufacturing plastic equipment, and why is it a good idea to opt for injection moulded products? Here are 5 reasons for the same:1. Efficient and Hassle-Free Manufacturing ProcessOne of the most important advantages of plastic injection moulding is that the process is extremely quick and efficient, requiring minimal manual intervention. With a bare minimal interval of 15-20 seconds between the different manufacture cycles, this technique significantly increases workplace productivity at factories and is also very cost-effective and user-friendly.2. More Quantity, Superior Quality & Lesser Time TakenAs a result of this ease of manufacturing, it is possible for workers to manufacture more quantity of plastic products of remarkably superior quality, but in much lesser manufacture time as compared to other processes. For this reason, plastic injection molding can substantially increase production rates and escalate sales turnover. 3. Easy Manufacture of Complex Shapes and StructuresOwing to the ubiquity of plastic across different industries and for various purposes, industries are often required to design plastic products of complex natures, consisting of many nuances. Injection moulding is the go-to manufacturing process to design extremely complex patterns and shapes with astounding precision. The only prerequisite to manufacturing complex plastic products via injection moulding is that the designs of these products should be planned accurately and reflected in the moulds into which the molten plastic is to be injected. With a sound backing of good design and the right mould, injection molded pallets, crates and other plastic products can be manufactured with absolute precision, regardless of the complexity of their shapes and structures.4. Uniform Manufacture of Multiple Identical Plastic ProductsManufacturing is not only about creating products of different shapes and sizes. It is also about manufacturing identical products — such as plastic storage bins, crates, pallets etc. — in a bulk and with the same precision. This task is often not cakewalk for manufacturers, as it involves very exacting manual labour. However, with the advent of injection moulding, this obstacle may be easily overcome. The injection moulds ensure that multiple plastic products of identical shapes, sizes and structures may be easily manufactured without any errors. 5. Automated Manufacturing ProcessLast but not least, the process of manufacturing plastic products by means of plastic injection molding is an automated one. A reduction in manual intervention while manufacturing these products ensures that workers and employees at factories can invest their time and efforts in more productive tasks, such as coming up with novel manufacturing solutions. This indirectly benefits customers who can avail of better quality services from plastic manufacturers. ConclusionInjection molded pallets, crates and other products are being manufactured and sold since quite some time now and are becoming increasingly popular among customers. Owing to the ease of manufacture and superior quality of such products, they are highly suitable to different industries and purposes. At Nilkamal, we strive to ensure that our injection molded plastic products are of extremely superior quality and affordable rates. Click here to know more.
What Can I Do with Cooked Leftover Black Beans?
What Can I Do with Cooked Leftover Black Beans?
What can I do with cooked leftover black beans?Depends on how much is left. You can rinse them and make a black bean salsa (corn, diced tomato, diced chili peppers, diced onion) or you can mash them and make a black bean paste which you then spread on a flour tortilla along with shredded chicken or beef and top with shredded cheese and then fold in half and pan fry to make quesadillas. Have a bowl of mixed greens (a salad) and top with tomatoes, green onion, black olives, taco meat (chicken or beef your choice) shredded cheese and rinsed black beans and a dollop of sour cream. Mash half into a paste, add a little milk and water to make a thick soupy texture and add cheese and heat until its thick and creamy and then add the rest of the black beans and a scoop of sour cream. Mash them into a paste and top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced black olives, shredded cheese and heat up until warm and then top with salsa, shredded cheese and grab some tortilla chips and scoop away. You can do a lot with them. Just depends on how much is left over.— — — — — —What shall I make for dinner this evening? This recipe also works with black beans but I much prefer garbanzo beans (chickpeas). 2 tbsp. canola or vegetable oil (dont use olive) 1 tbsp. flour 1 can chickpeas 1 tsp parsley (dried or fresh) 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. paprika 1 clove garlic, chopped 1 small onion, chopped 1. Drain and rinse chickpeas, then mash. 2. Season with some of the paprika/chilipowder/parsley 3. Set aside chickpeas, heat one tbsp. oil in a skillet and add in the garlic/onion. 4. Cook until brown then reduce the heat and add 1 tbsp of flour and season with the rest of the paprika/chilipowder/parsley. 5. Add this mixture into the beans and mash some more. 6. Form mixture into patties and fry in the remaining tbsp. of oil. Cook each side until brown. **this makes like 3 burgers but I make them really big so they might make you up to 5. In my experience, this burger goes great with some soy cheese, mustard, lettuce, and a wheat bun. Or, this is one of my favorite recipes: Sweet corn chowder 1 onion - chopped 1 clove garlic 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 medium potatoes - peeled and chopped Sweetcorn - either the corn from 4 ears of sweetcorn or 2 cans of sweetcorn 450ml (1 pint) water 225ml (1/2 pint) milk 1 teaspoon fresh thyme 1 bay leaf Pinch of cayenne pepper Gently cook the onion and garlic in vegetable oil until soft. Stir in the sweetcorn, potatoes, thyme, bay leaf, milk and water. Simmer for around 20- 30min or until the sweetcorn and potatoes are tender. Remove the bay leaf and the cayenne pepper to taste. This tastes great if you have cooked the sweetcorn either on the BBQ or roasted the corn in the oven first. Adds a new dimension. Or you could cook some white rice (brown rice will do but I usually prefer whitein this recipe), put half of it in a casserole dish, cover with (prepared) cream of mushroom soup, cheese, and quorn pieces (chicken style works best, but use whatever you have on hand), then layer the other half of the rice, another layer of mushroom soup, then quorn pieces, and cover with grated cheese. Laying Tile Over Asbestos Floor Tile
Laying Tile Over Asbestos Floor Tile
Don't disturb the asbestos if you can avoid it. Check with your town to see if there are special rules, but in general the process will be: clean the existing tiles thoroughly, with something that will remove grease and dirt. If any old tiles are loose, nail them in place with 6D nails, then use a nail set to countersink the nail heads. Use a thin coat of floor leveler on the old tile to fill the seams between tiles and level off any dents and depressions that have formed over time. When it cures, lay down plywood as a new subfloor. Check the directions for the new tile to see what they recommend for thickness and type of subfloor, as well as the recommended gap between sheets of plywood, and the number and type of fasteners to use to attach the subfloor. Be sure your fasteners are long enough to get all the way into the original subfloor, under the asbestos floor (unless you're really fond of squeaky floors and popped tiles). Sweep the subfloor, then use a thin coat of floor leveler to fill the gaps between the plywood sheets as well as the dimples created by the fasteners. When it cures, clean the subfloor thoroughly, then lay your new floor. If you leveled things well, and fastened the new subfloor properly, your new floor should be fine.I think most people picture ceramic tiles with curved edges when you say "tiled floor" rather than flat linoleum tile, which is what I'm guessing is actually there. Trying to put a new floor over ceramic tile would be a recipe for failure, but putting it over linoleum would be fine.In my laundry room, I've got asbestos floor tile. (The house was built in 1967.) The tile is laid on the concrete slab. Is it possible to lay ceramic penny tile over the asbestos tile if I put down cement backerboard first? I'd like to avoid pulling up the asbestos tile.
